In 1915 Somerset, peat-cutter Barry Drone loves widowed landlady Betty Queen, but she remains indifferent. To win her heart, he persuades his friend to stage a burglary so he can heroically intervene. This lighthearted comedy-drama explores love, deception, and the absurd lengths one might go for romance.
